Cultural Identity & Self-Esteem Therapy (NIHB-Covered)

Empowering Indigenous clients to reconnect with their roots, build confidence, and heal through culturally affirming, NIHB-covered counselling.

Reconnect With Who You Are—Inside and Out

For many Indigenous individuals, self-worth and cultural identity are deeply intertwined. The effects of colonization, discrimination, and intergenerational trauma can create a painful disconnect—from community, tradition, and even self.

At NIHBcounselling.ca, we offer fully covered therapy through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program to help you rebuild confidence, strengthen your cultural connection, and rediscover the power in your story.

Why Cultural Identity Matters

A strong sense of cultural identity is more than heritage—it’s healing. It’s knowing where you come from and embracing the values, traditions, and strengths that make you who you are.

When cultural connection is lost or damaged, it can impact:

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Mental health and emotional well-being

  • Belonging and purpose

  • Relationships with self and others

This therapy is designed to affirm your identity, uplift your voice, and guide you toward healing through culturally safe support.

If you have a valid Status Card (First Nations or Inuit), your sessions are 100% covered under the NIHB Mental Health Counselling Benefit.
