About Us – NIHB Counselling Services

Supporting Indigenous Wellness Through Culturally Safe Mental Health Services

Mukesh Mishra NIHB Counsellor

At NIHB Counselling (nihbcounselling.ca), our mission is to provide accessible, confidential, and culturally competent counselling services to First Nations and Inuit individuals and families across Canada, covered under the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program.

We believe that mental wellness is deeply connected to cultural identity, community, and a strong support system. That’s why our team of licensed Indigenous and non-Indigenous mental health professionals are committed to walking beside you on your healing journey — with care, respect, and cultural humility.

What We Do

We provide NIHB-covered therapy to eligible clients for a range of mental health concerns, including:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Residential school and intergenerational trauma

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Grief and loss

  • Family and relationship issues

  • Substance use and recovery

  • Stress management and life transitions

  • Identity, self-esteem, and cultural reconnection

Our therapy sessions are fully covered through the NIHB Mental Health Counselling Program for eligible First Nations and Inuit clients. No referral or diagnosis is needed — just reach out, and we will walk you through the process with compassion and confidentiality.
